By taking all ~80,000 coins\/1372 types from <em>CRRO<\/em> and compiling them into relevant data points, Zach has shown with clarity the trends in the coinage and demonstrated where prevailing narratives need to be nuanced.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Colin Renfrew Prize for the best Greek Archaeology dissertation:<br \/>\n<\/strong>Jointly, <strong>Louis Guthrie<br \/>\n<\/strong>Louis\u2019 dissertation reconstructs the Venus de Milo, the most famous Greek statue ever created, in its original Hellenistic gymnasium on Melos. This involved suggesting the colours with which the statue was originally painted (polychromy), interpreting the other pieces of archaeological material found alongside the Venus de Milo, and using more modern theories of spatial analysis to understand how the statue was viewed and understood in its original context.<\/p>\n<p>And<strong> Cameron Lyon<br \/>\n<\/strong>This dissertation examines Ancient Greek curse tablets, which were inscribed with magical words of binding and punishment before being deposited securely in the earth.
