Additional business lines include Latency Sensitive Electronic Trading, commission management services and the provision of execution management tools<\/p>\n<p>The Global Trading Research division is responsible for the design and implementation Instinet\u2019s industry-leading algorithmic trading platform. The group undertakes independent quantitative research to produce insightful trading strategies which underpin the competitive edge of our trading systems.<\/p>\n<p>Since its inception in 1969 Instinet has been at the forefront of electronic trading; embracing software to build innovative trading products.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Internship Program<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The ten-week summer internship program has been designed to give students experience of working in a fast-paced software-oriented trading group with the opportunity to:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Design, implement and test Instinet\u2019s software platforms<br \/>\n\u2022 Enhance technical skills; writing code, code reviews, testing, etc.<br \/>\n\u2022 Work in an agile, cross-functional development team<br \/>\n\u2022 Involvement with the architecture and technical design of system features<br \/>\n\u2022 Gain an in-depth understanding of algorithmic and electronic trading<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>What type of candidates are we looking for?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Given the technical nature of the role candidates should be studying for an undergraduate degree in a computer science or engineering discipline and be able to demonstrate practical programming experience in one of more of the following technologies:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Java<br \/>\n\u2022 C\/C++<br \/>\n\u2022 Javascript<br \/>\n\u2022 Python<br \/>\n\u2022 Linux<br \/>\n\u2022 Android \/ iOS<\/p>\n<p>Academic credentials (minimum 2:1 predicted results) are important.
