If you want to put your coding and technical skills to use, but are also interested in entrepreneurship and want to also learn about business, this is ground zero.

IDR solutions is a fast moving, 10 person, 20 year old Software Company with offices in KingsHill (Kent) and Leicester. We have 4 cutting edge technology products which we sell to other businesses and 200 customers across the globe (including large corporations like Adobe, Pearsons, governments, and startups).

Everyone on the team is technical and hands on, with several roles. One of your roles will be to assist the founder/owner with running the Company and handling the business/sales processes. Our sales are generated from our website and inbound inquiries – we do not do cold calls, etc.

There will also be lots of technical tasks, assisting with support, development and testing. IDR solutions has a very informal structure and there is a lot of scope to define and develop your exact role. Some of the recent tasks you might have been involved in include:-

Technical

• Updating our sales automations on Zapier to use Stripe.

• Helping to profile our codebase to identify performance bottlenecks.

• Writing a client for our Cloud platform in Java, PHP or JavaScript.
• Looking to identify and pay down technical debt in our software.
• Improving our automated tests Business
• Being familiar with the sales and renewals process and able to cover some of these tasks when staff are away
• Keeping track of upcoming renewals and monitoring when they get paid
• Helping to work on (not in) the business, for example participating in a discussion about our hiring needs, or helping to develop and plan our strategy for the lockdown and setting up for better remote working practices
• Liaising with our Japanese distributor (in English)
• Joining in discussions with other Software Companies on joint projects (generally at the CEO / CTO level).

We do not want anyone who is looking for a standard corporate graduate scheme (that is not us). This is a very hands on job where you will do meaningful work from your first day and learn all about business, software, coding and yourself.

We take our work very seriously and ourselves less so. We are very much against meetings and interruptions – we like to spend our time getting things done. We believe in working hard, but not late or weekends, and enjoying our jobs. I hate to spend my time micro-managing people so you will get lots of help, mentoring and support but also lots of autonomy and freedom.

We can base you in Kent or Leicester and will send you to work in our other office as well (at our expense). We will aim to send you to at least one event in the next 12 months, such as Business of Software conference.

We are offering a basic starting salary of 25,000 pounds for a new graduate and will transition you onto our bonus scheme over the year (a full share was worth 5,300 pounds last year). We give you 20 days holiday a year on top of bank holidays and you can also buy up to 20 extra days holiday at a discount rate as part of your bonus. We will match your pension contributions up to 5% .

We are also happy to receive applications from recent grads who have found the corporate world is not for them, lost their jobs in the pandemic, want to run their own company one day or just like the way we operate.

How to apply

If you are interested, please send your CV and covering letter explaining why you think you would be a good fit for this role at IDRsolutions to markstephens@idrsolutions.com

Deadline

By the end of 16th May 2021.

A hybrid business/technical role at a small software Company We are looking for someone to fill a hybrid business/technical role at a small software Company. … Read more

[205105,9658,184915,184554,205133,205132
9658,872,143073,184942,184943,145910,149978
