{"id":1884,"date":"2020-12-03T15:13:34","date_gmt":"2020-12-03T15:13:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/soc-employability\/?p=1884"},"modified":"2020-12-03T15:13:34","modified_gmt":"2020-12-03T15:13:34","slug":"energy-careers-with-the-national-grid-applications-open","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/soc-employability\/2020\/12\/03\/energy-careers-with-the-national-grid-applications-open\/","title":{"rendered":"Energy Careers with the National Grid &#8211; applications open!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">Genius and Grid for Good Talent Development Pathway, a long-term, multi-touch<br \/>\nproject for students to gain insight and develop skills to enter careers in the energy sector.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1Vffs4ehnpoo134Voqq2i0Ab7Mc52EqXb\/view\"><strong>Grid for Good Talent Development Pathway,<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>What does the Pathway look like?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">As a member of the Grid for Good pathway, you will have exclusive access to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Insight talks, focusing on different careers available in the energy industry<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Team Building events, including leading, networking and self-development sessions<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Upskilling workshops, including CV writing, mock interviews with National Grid employees, Challenge Days and application boot camps<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">1-to-1 Mentoring with National Grid employees<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Paid work experience opportunities with National Grid<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Graduate job opportunities, including Graduate Schemes, Apprenticeships and Internships with National Grid<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">We are hosting a <strong>virtual welcome event for the pathway on 16th December 4:45-6:20 pm<\/strong>. This event will feature an Insight talk and Careers Panel with current National Grid employees, a valuable opportunity to learn more about career paths within the energy sector.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">To be eligible for this pathway, you must be from black African or Caribbean heritage, OR have a household income of below \u00a342,875 per annum.
