Featuring women speakers talking about their research, a spotlight competition open to postgraduate students, and opportunities to network with other new researchers in computing, this\u202fyear\u2019s event will be held online, via Go To Webinar.\u202f We will hear from women\u202fabout their work on logic, quantum theory and\u202fdigital music.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Spotlight Competition Eligibility: Women* research masters students and PhD students, with a Computer Science focus, enrolled at UK universities.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Audience attendance is open to all.<\/strong><\/p>\n<aside>*Please note that London Hopper uses an inclusive definition of \u201cwoman\u201d and \u201cfemale\u201d, which includes individuals who are non-binary or who identify as women.<\/aside>\n<p><strong>Submission deadline is midnight, 1st of October 2020.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"structured-content-rich-text structured-content__module l-align-left l-mar-vert-6 l-sm-mar-vert-4 text-body-medium\">\n<h3>Research Spotlight competition<\/h3>\n<p>The Research Spotlight competition focuses on female research Masters\u202f and PhD students, providing them with a friendly forum for communicating the essence of their work. This will be via 3-5 minutes (depending on the number of accepted submissions) recorded presentations, broadcast during Hopper 2020. Presentation topics may be from any research area within the field of computing, and may encompass interdisciplinary studies connected to computing. There will be 10-12 spotlight presentations, split between two thirty-minute sessions. Prizes will be awarded for the best research spotlight presentations and each entrant will also receive a prize.<\/p>\n<p><strong>If you would like to apply for the research spotlight competition, please first register for London Hopper 2020 here on Eventbrite.
