Monday 10 May

Video Interview skills, 11.00-12.00 –  As more employers use online tools in their recruitment process learn how to present yourself well in a video interview.

How to find a Graduate Job, 13.00-14.00 – This session will focus on finding graduate work, including graduate schemes, graduate jobs and job-hunting methods (proactive and reactive methods), plus application tips!

Managing Stress (Study Plus), 14.00-15.30 – This 90-minute workshop looks at what stress is and explores some of the benefits as well as the negative impacts of stress. Most importantly this workshop will provide you with practical tools you can implement to manage stress.

Tuesday 11 May

Emotional Intelligence (Study Plus), 11.00-12.30 – To provide an overview of Emotional Intelligence and how it underpins personal effectiveness.

Sustainability (Study Plus), 13.00-15.00 – Week One – What is Sustainability? (2hrs interactive lecture with exercises and group activities)

Career Management, 13.00-14.00 – Looking at 4 stages to help you plan your career; self awareness, explore opportunities, decide what to do, take action.

LinkedIn Job Hunting, 15.00-16.00 – Now, more than ever, you need to know how to access the unadvertised job market and LinkedIn could provide the key. This session provides valuable tips that could help you get more out of using the LinkedIn platform to navigate our university’s impressive alumni pool.

Wednesday 12 May

Introduction to Project Management with insight from professionals and Q&A (Study Plus), 11.00-12.00 – Discover more about project management, the essential skills you need and how you can build your employability skills.

Selection Tests, 13.00-14.00 – Often referred to as Psychometric tests, graduate recruiters often use verbal/numerical/logical reasoning, situational judgement, personality and game-based tests as part of their selection process. Find out more about these tests and to learn about Graduates First, an online facility where Kent students can practise them.

Introvert Course for students (Study Plus), 13.00-14.00 – From interview stage onwards, owning and playing to your natural strengths as an introvert will have you stand out for the right reasons. This 90 min session, delivered by Joanna Rawbone of Flourishing Introverts, is full of practical hints, tips and takeaways.

Gousto: Software Engineer summer internship and Grad roles, 14.00-15.00 – Find out more about Gousto, the opportunities for Software Engineers, the recruitment process, and what it is like to be an Intern or Grad at Gousto. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions to the Chief Technical Officer (CTO) and a current Intern at Gousto.

Succeeding in applications; Bitesize session, 14.30-15.00 – Join this bitesized session for tips and techniques that can be used to maximise application success and your chance to ask questions.

Thursday 13 May

Finding Experience: Bitesize session, 11.00-11.30 – Join this bitesized session for tips for gaining relevant experience, job hunting resources, and how to talk about your experience with a chance to ask questions.

Creating a great CV, 13.00-14.00 – This presentation will cover the do’s and don’ts when it comes to creating a great CV and covering letter, including how to structure a CV and how to make an impact!

Networking Skills session (Study Plus), 14.00-15.00 – Sally Lloyd, part of leading employability company #ENTRYLEVELBOSS – is hosting an exclusive workshop for Kent students about developing and using networking skills to navigate the job search in our new reality.

Friday 14 May

Virtual Volunteering, 11.00-12.00 – Virtual Volunteering is a great way to gain experience and develop your employability skills in the current climate. This session will go through the different types of opportunities which are available and how you can make the most of them.

Creating a Professional Online Presence, 13.00-14.00 – Have you reviewed your digital footprint, and what it says about you to employers? What online tools are you using to raise your profile? This session will help you make sure you are presenting your best digital self when job hunting.
