Job Description
Sustainability Monitor (SusMon) is a start-up research company providing competitive monitoring services. SusMon analyses the sustainability strategies of global multinationals and is developing ground-breaking research products in the subject area.
SusMon’s reports will give customers a 360° view of the how companies in their sector address sustainability. Reports combine data, analysis and insight with advanced statistical & text analysis, social media monitoring and data visualisation.
As a Software Engineer, you will take an active part in both planning of work, and development of new features, helping to define both scope and delivery methods. At SusMon we don’t believe in “back room IT”, but involve everyone equally in the decision making process and welcome fresh new perspectives in all areas of the business.
As Software Engineer you will be continuing development on our research database application to support the research team, as well as working with the team to define new applications and take ownership of their implementation and delivery.
This role is initially a solo position, with plans to expand the team with the business. Our tech stack is primarily a Clean Architecture, using Kotlin/VueJS/Typescript, however you will have the freedom to use any appropriate technologies to get the job done.

What are we looking for?
· Understanding/experience of Clean Architecture
· Knowledge of SOLID Principles
· Worked with more than one programming language
· Worked with SQL Databases
· Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Heroku
· Written code with tests
· Self-motivated
Your Responsibilities
· Researching, designing, implementing and managing software programs
· Testing and evaluating new programs
· Identifying areas for modification in existing programs and subsequently developing these modifications
· Writing and implementing efficient code
· Determining operational practicality
· Developing quality assurance procedures
· Deploying software tools, processes and metrics
· Maintaining and upgrading existing systems
· Training users
· Work across the business to establish system requirements and success criteria
