Daunted by the prospect of applying for an industrial placement? We’ve been there! Join us for an interactive session run by two Unilever placement students offering you tips, tricks, and personal experience to help you succeed through the application process.
We’ll take you through the programmes available at Unilever and how to get there. Focusing on the assessment centre we’ll cover practice questions and activities so you can leave feeling confident and ready to apply.
Editing and Proofreading by Jakki Bendell, 10:30 – 12:00
Editing and proofreading are transferable skills that will be valued in any job role. At work, you will need to check your own emails and reports. Your employer may also ask you to check other people’s work as part of your role. This session will give you the skills, tools and resources to check written work effectively. It is highly interactive including group discussion and practical exercises.
Effortless session – What makes you tick: Finding a career that works for YOU Part 2, 15:00 – 17:00
This is a fun and relaxed interactive workshop. No preparation required. Videos and microphones must be turned on so you can fully emerge yourself in the experience.
Introduction to Management by Kate Gardner, 13:30 – 15:00
By the end of the session, participants will have:
- Understood the need to manage yourself, the team, and the task!
- Examined their own personality style and therefore how they may manage
- Explored Problem Solving and Decision-Making tools

Employers are showing more and more that they are inclusive, and positive about creating a diverse workforce. What should you look for in an employer? This session will help you find disability confident employers and what to look for when considering applying for a job or placement.

With more and more business utilising online platforms to conduct interviews, FDM Group have created a session with helpful tips to help with your success! In this session FDM will cover their onboarding process and how to prepare for a virtual/video interview, which will include information about strength based interviews.
