KYOCERA KYO Codes Competition

KYOCodes

KYOCERA is trying to find the best team of developers, business students and idea makers, through the annual KYOCERA invitational competition, KYOCodes.

Students are invited to enter a team of three into KYOCodes and could be crowned as the KYOCERA app developers, potentially winning a top prize of £3,000 worth of Apple gift cards, devices for the university, potential job offers and an accreditation as a KYOCERA developer.

KYOCERA also uses this programme to find the new talent for our technical and sales staff of the future, and will provide a real benefit to students as they go onto their careers.

The team will be invited to KYOCERA Reading, Manchester or Scotland and tasked with designing, building and presenting an application which meets a real business need and challenge, followed by training on how to develop the concept, before testing and presenting the end product.

Last year, Fife College whose team comprised of second-year students Keir Nellyer, Liam Dales and Jack Vincent won the top prize with their Scan to Social application; a solution which allows multi-functional device users to scan documents straight to Twitter.

Keir went onto an apprenticeship in software development with scheduling software company Airts based in Edinburgh, while Liam and Jack headed onto university to study software development further. You can read more about the 2017 KYOCodes winner’s story here.

Sign up by 26 January 2018, training weeks start on 5th February and final presentations are on 2nd April.
