Throughout Stages 1 and 2, you attend specialist programme of workshops and events designed to ensure you have the best possible opportunity of securing a placement, including:
- Regular timetabled employability workshops
- 1:1 meetings with the Placements Team
- Annual SMSAS Placements Fair
- SMSAS Placements Campus Day / Poster Fair (students who are on placement return to campus for a day to present their posters and share their placement experiences)
- SMSAS Placement Boot Camp
- Annual Kent Employability Fair
Our in-house Placements Team will support you throughout the process, providing advice and guidance on:
- How to prepare your CV and build experience and skills at university
- Where to find placement opportunities
- What to expect in the placement application and recruitment process
- How to complete application forms
- Interview and assessment centre techniques
- And much more!
You’ll also receive informal mentorship from returning placement students.
