No matter how anxious you may feel about your results, it is important to look after yourself and take time to relax.

Here are our seven ways to relax this summer:

Get active

Whether it’s walking the dog, playing sport with friends, dancing around the house to your favourite song or honing your yoga skills, being active is a fantastic way to destress and have some fun.

Laugh, laugh and laugh some more

Laughing is a well-known stress reliever. Why not head down to your local comedy club, see that new blockbuster comedy, or watch some hilarious online videos, in the name of relaxation.

Meditate

Meditation has been proven to lower stress and anxiety levels. Find a comfy spot for five or ten minutes, concentrate on your breath, and feel the anxiety start to disappear.

Put on some music

Listening to your favourite tunes can be a quick fix for an anxious or bad mood. Blast those cheesy pop ballads and sing away your stresses.

Pet a puppy…or a kitten

What better excuse do you need to cuddle up with a furry friend? Puppies, kittens, hamsters, rabbits… pets can do wonders for your self-esteem and nerves.

Socialise

Sometimes getting out and about is all you need to lift your spirits. Pop down the local bowling alley, go on that group holiday, visit somewhere new, or just hang out with some friends. Not only will you make great memories, you’ll feel fantastic too!

Take some time out

Before things get on top of you, spend a few minutes alone to clear your head and collect your thoughts.

Wellbeing is an important part of student life in the School of Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science.
