We invite year 12 and year 13 students to find out what it is like to study Mathematics, Statistics or Actuarial Science at the University of Kent.
You will attend two taster lectures, participate in a small-group tutorial and take part in a series of interactive mathematical activities. You will find out about our Mathematics, Statistics, Financial Mathematics and Actuarial Science degree programmes, the placement year and mathematical careers.
You will have the opportunity to spend time with our undergraduate students and our friendly lecturers, visit our maths home in the Sibson building and tour the beautiful Canterbury campus.
The day will start at 11am and will finish at 3.15pm.
We welcome applications from year 12 and year 13 pupils taking A level Mathematics (or Further Mathematics) who intend to study mathematics, statistics or actuarial science at university, especially those who are considering the University of Kent as one of their UCAS choices.
To apply for a place on the Maths Taster day at Kent, please email mathsoutreach@kent.ac.uk with your name, email address (or phone number), the name of your school or college and about 150 words explaining why you are interested in studying mathematics, statistics or actuarial science.
Places are limited and will be allocated to those who may benefit the most from the opportunity. The taster day is free to attend and participants are responsible for their own travel and lunch expenses.
