Ambassador Bio- Miranda Kerr-Dineen

Meet Miranda, one of our ambassadors!

What are you studying?

Hi I’m Miranda and I am studying Mathematics with a Year In Industry.

What Stage will you be in during 2019?

I have just completed my second year at Kent and this academic year (2019-2020) I will be on my placement year working in London at NBCUniversal. If you have any questions about the Year in Industry Program, then feel free to contact me!

Where are you from?

I’m from Brighton.

How long have you been an ambassador and what made you want to become one?

I have been an ambassador for two years and I wanted to become one after hearing about the great opportunities that the role presents from older students at University.

What’s your favourite part about being an ambassador?

My favourite part about being an ambassador is that it allows you to make friends with students from SMSAS in other years and work together supporting the Recruitment and Outreach team at the University.

What kind of work have you been involved in as an ambassador?

I have been involved in lots of different work as an ambassador ranging from running a masterclass in a local primary school to leading A-Level revision sessions for sixth form students in Kent. Working at University Open Days is also an important part of the ambassador role, leading or supporting campus tours and giving prospective students an insight into what life is like at the University of Kent as part of SMSAS.

What’s your favourite thing about being at the University of Kent?

My favourite thing about the University of Kent is how down to earth the people are – there is a lovely community feel to the campus.

Do you have any advice/tips for prospective students?

There are so many societies and activities to get involved in and I would recommend trying out as much as you can! Throw yourself into university life, make an effort to get to know your flatmates and the other students on your course and you’ll have a great time!
