{"id":926,"date":"2018-05-22T16:24:20","date_gmt":"2018-05-22T15:24:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/smsasnews\/?p=926"},"modified":"2019-01-09T14:44:46","modified_gmt":"2019-01-09T14:44:46","slug":"influential-professor-of-mathematics-to-receive-honorary-degree-from-kent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/smsasnews\/influential-professor-of-mathematics-to-receive-honorary-degree-from-kent\/","title":{"rendered":"Influential Professor of Mathematics to Receive Honorary Degree from Kent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Professor Mark Ablowitz from the University of Colorado, Boulder, will collect and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/congregations\/honorary-grads\/index.html\">Honorary Degree from the University of Kent<\/a> on Thursday 19 July, alongside graduating students from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/smsas\/index.html\">School of Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science (SMSAS)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Mark is a Professor of Applied Mathematics whose research is centred on the solutions of nonlinear differential equations, principally equations with applications in nonlinear waves and fibre optics.
