{"id":721,"date":"2018-01-17T16:27:41","date_gmt":"2018-01-17T16:27:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/smsasnews\/?p=721"},"modified":"2019-01-15T13:38:19","modified_gmt":"2019-01-15T13:38:19","slug":"successful-mathematician-smsas-alumna-featured-in-london-mathematical-society-newsletter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/smsasnews\/successful-mathematician-smsas-alumna-featured-in-london-mathematical-society-newsletter\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Successful Mathematician&#8221; &#8211; SMSAS Alumna Featured in London Mathematical Society Newsletter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dr Helen Webster, Senior Scientist in Atmospheric Dispersion and Air Quality at the Met Office, has been featured as a &#8216;Successful Mathematician&#8217; in the London Mathematical Society&#8217;s recent newsletter.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Webster has had an excellent career since completing her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/smsas\/postgraduate\/phd-applications.html\">PhD in Applied Mathematics<\/a> at Kent under the supervision of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/smsas\/our-people\/profiles\/clarkson_peter.html\">Professor Peter Clarkson<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As a Senior Scientist for the Met Office, Dr Webster conducts research into potentially hazardous substances in the atmosphere.
