{"id":487,"date":"2016-06-29T10:19:23","date_gmt":"2016-06-29T09:19:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/smsasnews\/?p=487"},"modified":"2019-01-09T14:59:11","modified_gmt":"2019-01-09T14:59:11","slug":"byron-morgan-talks-and-activities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/smsasnews\/byron-morgan-talks-and-activities\/","title":{"rendered":"Byron Morgan talks and activities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In March Professor Byron Morgan gave an invited talk at the DAGStat meeting in Goettingen, home to the Mathematician\/Statistician Carl Friedrich Gauss.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/smsasnews\/files\/2016\/06\/Activities.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-488 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/smsasnews\/files\/2016\/06\/Activities-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"Activities\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/smsasnews\/files\/2016\/06\/Activities-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/smsasnews\/files\/2016\/06\/Activities.jpg 594w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In April Byron gave a contributed\u00a0talk at the Congres Vlinderstichting\u00a0meeting in Wageningen, and has been busy co-editing the latest issue of the journal\u00a0<em>Statistical Science<\/em> with Professor Steve Buckland, University of St. Andrews, commemorating the 50-year anniversary of the capture-recapture papers by Cormack, Jolly and Seber.
