For each submission, three distinct elements are assessed: the quality of outputs such as publications, their impact beyond academia, and the environment that supports research.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:true,&quot;134233118&quot;:true,&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Contributing to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/smsas\">School of Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science<\/a>&#8216;s REF success was its number of world class publications and the demonstrable impact it has made.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:true,&quot;134233118&quot;:true,&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Our Research Environment has been ranked in the top 20 nationally. In addition, 93% of research outputs have been rated as world leading (4*) the highest category internationally excellent (3*).<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:true,&quot;134233118&quot;:true,&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Overall, 90% of our research has been rated at 3* or 4*.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:true,&quot;134233118&quot;:true,&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Professor St\u00e9phane Launois, Head of the School of Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science, said:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:true,&quot;134233118&quot;:true,&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span>&#8220;I am delighted at our REF2021 results.
