The collaboration includes\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ukcwomeninstem\">Women in STEM<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/kentmathssociety\">Kent Maths<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/ukc_biosoc\/\">Bio Soc<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/chemsoc_kent\/\">Chem Soc<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/KentMarrow\">Kent Marrow<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/ukcspace\/\">Kent Space Soc<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/KMScanterbury\">Kent Marketing Soc<\/a>, and aims to showcase the diversity of people in STEM.<\/p>\n<p>A paper recently published in the <em>Journal of Vascular Surgery<\/em> (now <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S074152141932587X\">retracted<\/a>), examined the prevalence of &#8216;unprofessional&#8217; social media content among young vascular surgeons. It detailed how behaving outside of the expected roles for young professionals in STEM fields is &#8216;detrimental&#8217; to their careers, and still carries a stigma.<\/p>\n<p>In response, societies at Kent have joined together to create an online showcase of people in STEM, celebrating their interests, hobbies and abilities.<\/p>\n<p>The showcase is open to all studying or working in STEM, and a random prize draw will take place at the end with the winners receiving Amazon vouchers.<\/p>\n<p>Entry instructions:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Post either one or multiple pictures\/clips\/videos In the same post of you showcasing your hobby, talent or creation<\/li>\n<li>In the captions write a few lines about it! What made you take it up?
