{"id":1447,"date":"2019-11-18T15:49:19","date_gmt":"2019-11-18T15:49:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/smsasnews\/?p=1447"},"modified":"2019-11-19T12:33:13","modified_gmt":"2019-11-19T12:33:13","slug":"international-pensions-risk-report-launched","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/smsasnews\/international-pensions-risk-report-launched\/","title":{"rendered":"International pensions risk report launched"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An international pensions risk report co-authored by, among others, Dr Pradip Tapadar and his PhD student Aniketh Pittea, has recently been jointly launched by the actuarial professional bodies.<\/p>\n<p>The research is a key output from a project entitled\u00a0<em>Population Ageing, Implications for Asset Values, and Impact for Pension Plans: An International Study\u00a0 <\/em>and looked at Defined Benefit pension schemes using a hypothetical application of the economic capital requirements under a Solvency II framework. A key finding was that economic capital had a greater impact from changes in asset allocation than changes in contributions.\u00a0 It also highlights to pension plan sponsors and trustees that there is a large range of potential outcomes in a typical Defined Benefit pension scheme and could result in a significant variation in contributions to the plan.
