I will discuss some current research in the modular case, i.e., when the characteristic of the field of coefficients is a prime number p which divides the order of the symmetry group.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.math.ca\/Events\/summer18\/\">Click here for more information about the Canadian Mathematical Society&#8217;s Summer Meeting 2018. <\/a><\/h5>\n<hr \/>\n<div style=\"background: #f4f4f4;padding: 24px;clear: both\">\n<h2>Dr Jim Shank<\/h2>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/smsas\/our-people\/profiles\/shank_james.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reader in Mathematics<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/smsasabroad\/files\/2018\/10\/shank_james.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-2424\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/smsasabroad\/files\/2018\/10\/shank_james.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"139\" height=\"139\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Jim is a Reader in Mathematics and is one of the School&#8217;s Undergraduate Academic Admissions Officers.
