Lecturer in Mathematics, Dr Steffen Krusch, and PhD Student in Mathematics, William Grummitt, from the School of Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science (SMSAS) at the University of Kent, spoke at the Seventh Solitons (non)Integrability Geometry (SIG) in High Energy Physics and String Theory meeting that took place earlier this month (June 2018). <\/p>\n

Steffen and William presented a talk on ‘(Vibrational) quantization of Skyrmions’ at the meeting held at the Institute of Physics, Jagiellonian University, in Krakow, Poland.<\/p>\n

Steffen is a Lecturer in Mathematics, the School’s Director of Graduate Studies (Research) and Chair of School’s Graduate Studies Committee. His research interests include topological solitons in mathematical physics, in particular the classical and quantum behaviour of Skyrmions. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

PhD Student in Mathematics<\/a><\/h3>\n

William is a PhD Student in Mathematics. He began his PhD programme in 2015 and is supervised by Steffen. His research interest is in topological solitons. William is part of the Skyrmions at Kent group. <\/p>\n
