Students from the School of Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science (SMSAS) at the University of Kent scooped a quarter of the awards at the Kent Student Awards 2019.
MSc Applied Actuarial Science (International Masters) student, Vatsala Sodhani, was named the winner of the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Academic Communities’ award, for her “work throughout the year as a link between students and the School to pass on feedback, support outreach activities and help promote and host events as part of her role as Student Rep and society committee member.”
BSc Actuarial Science with a Year in Industry student, Trevor Ong, scooped the award for ‘Outstanding Contribution to Student Employment’, for his work “supporting students on the Year in Industry programme in the School.”
BSc Mathematics student, Maisie Williams, was named as joint winner of the award for ‘Outstanding Contribution to Fundraising’, for her “dedication to Kent Marrow, running events raising over £1,000 for the Anthony Nolan Trust and raising awareness of marrow donation.”
