The University of Kent’s School of Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science (SMSAS) hosted our first ever virtual Open Day with KMTV on Tuesday 3 December 2019. Among them was Ian Rogers (above, left) who talked about the School’s initiatives in employability, and Chloe Francis (above, centre) who is now an MSc research student but who was able to look back upon and share her experiences of undergraduate life in SMSAS.A number of other students spoke about their experiences and among the academics who took part were Head of School Professor Peter Hydon, Dr Clare Dunning, and Dr Alexa Laurence. The broadcast is approximately 90 minutes in length. It’s a perfect opportunity to discover what it is like to be a student in SMSAS, to find out about the benefits of taking a Year in Industry, and to hear how we equip our students for top graduate jobs or postgraduate study.
