The School of Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science (SMSAS) at the University of Kent hosted the London Mathematical Society’s ‘Women in Mathematics Day’ for the first time on Friday 24 May.
Organised by Lecturer in Mathematics, Dr Clelia Pech, the event saw researchers and students from across the country visit the Canterbury campus to attend networking sessions and talks by prominent female mathematicians at various stages in their careers, and to take part in a poster presentation.
Professor of Mathematics, Prof. Jing Ping Wang, and Senior Lecturer in Mathematics, Dr Constanze Roitzheim, both presented keynote talks during the event.
Associate Professor of Mathematics at Durham University, Dr Anna Felikson, and Professor of Mathematics at Imperial College London, Prof. Xue-Mei Li, also delivered keynote talks.
