Dr Melania Nica, Lecturer in Actuarial Science at the School of Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science, gave a series of two guest lectures this month to students at the Amity School of Insurance, Banking and Actuarial Science in India.
The idea behind the lectures was to introduce students to current issues in actuarial science and finance, and to the academic environment in Kent’s Actuarial Science Group.
Melania’s last talk, held on Monday 15 March 2021, explored rationality and biases. In the talk, Melania covered issues in behavioural finance and also introduced students to her current research on understanding advice from potentially biased experts.
