Senior Lecturer in Mathematics, Dr Constanze Roitzheim, from the School of Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science (SMSAS) at the University of Kent, recently gave a keynote talk at the ‘Early Career Topology Researchers (ECTR)’ Conference 2019, held at the University of Sheffield and supported by the London Mathematical Society (LMS).
Constanze presented a talk titled, ‘Homotopy Theory of Bicomplexes’.
Abstract:
Model categories provide a way of talking about homotopy theory in an algebraic setting. We show how to construct model structures on bicomplexes and twisted complexes and explain their relevance in stable homotopy theory.
