We are proud to announce the recent achievements of two of our students.
Jenny Ashcroft, a current PhD student, will be representing us at the 2016 SET for Britain. This is being held at the Houses of Parliament on Monday 7 March 2016.
Jenny will be presenting her work on Baby Skyrmions without a potential term.
This is the third year in a row that SMSAS has been represented at this event: Emily Dennis was a SET finalist in 2014 (more details) as was Mareike Haberichter in 2015.
Rachael Whyman, a current 3rd year BSc student, was a speaker at a conference held in February entitled Tomorrow’s Mathematicians Today. This was held at Greenwich University where Rachael presented her research on the correspondence between Juggling patterns and musical rhythmic tilings.
