A very warm welcome to Dr Bruno Santos, who has joined the School of Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science as Lecturer in Statistics.
Bruno obtained his BSc and MSc in Statistics from University of São Paulo in Brazil. During his PhD in Statistics, he was supervised by Professor Heleno Bolfarine, at University of São Paulo, with a one year period at Duke University.
He has worked as an Assistant Professor in two Brazilian universities, Federal University of Bahia, in Salvador, and Federal University of Espírito Santo, in Vitória. Bruno also spent a period at Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, as a Postdoctoral Researcher, with Professor Thomas Kneib.
Bruno’s research focuses on quantile regression models and other flexible regression models, mostly considering Bayesian approaches. He has developed methods for different types of response variables, from proportion data to multiple-output response variables.
