By With a few exceptions, the Print/Copy/Scan devices used within SMSAS will attribute printing costs to the School account, not to the accounts of individual users. This is not necessarily very clear from the device’s information panel.
Staff and PhD students of SMSAS are not charged for printing. Taught students usually are. Some academic visitors and other users may be granted permission to charge printing to the School.
If the display panel for the printer you are using gives you the impression that charges are being made, check to see if this is genuinely the case by visiting https://printing.kent.ac.uk/app?service=page/UserPrintLogs. The column headed “Charged to…” will display the name of the School unless your personal account has been charged.
