Subject to annual pay award.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"customHTML\"><strong class=\"customHTML\">School of Sport, Exercise &amp; Health Sciences<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"customHTML\"><strong class=\"customHTML\">Full Time Graduate Teaching Assistant, Quantitative Research Methods<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"customHTML\"><strong class=\"customHTML\">Fixed-term for 5-years, or until PhD completion, whichever is sooner.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"customHTML\">Only individuals with existing rights to work and study in the UK can be considered as the role does not meet the requirements for Visa sponsorship under UK immigration\u00a0regulations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"customHTML\">Combining a teaching role with postgraduate research, this PGTA position is an exciting opportunity to complete a PhD under the supervision of Loughborough University&#8217;s expert staff while gaining invaluable experience in the delivery of learning\u00a0and teaching.<\/p>\n<p class=\"customHTML\">This PGTA position sits within the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences at Loughborough University and will support the teaching of research methods and supporting students with statistics. \u00a0Teaching roles will include:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"customHTML\">\n<li class=\"customHTML\">Holding workshops and drop-ins for students about statistics<\/li>\n<li class=\"customHTML\">Demonstrating\/Seminars\/Tutorials \u2013 to undertake laboratory demonstration and\/or support teaching activities during seminar, tutorial and practical sessions.<\/li>\n<li class=\"customHTML\">Supervision \u2013 providing support to academic staff, supervising UG projects through, for example, providing technical support in experiments or assisting students in the use of software.<\/li>\n<li class=\"customHTML\">Mentoring\/Tutoring \u2013 providing students with guidance and technical support for module queries, study skills and referring them to appropriate pastoral support.<\/li>\n<li class=\"customHTML\">Highly moderated marking.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"customHTML\">Candidates should have a strong, relevant, educational background, excellent communication skills and experience of undertaking a research project.<\/p>\n<p class=\"customHTML\">The PhD topic must fall within the School\u2019s research themes: Sport Performance, Lifestyle for Health and Wellbeing, and Participation in Sport and Exercise.\u00a0 A list of potential topics can be found here:<\/p>\n<p class=\"customHTML\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lboro.ac.uk\/departments\/ssehs\/phd-pg-research\/postgraduateteachingassistant\">https:\/\/www.lboro.ac.uk\/departments\/ssehs\/phd-pg-research\/postgraduateteachingassistant<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"customHTML\">Studentship tuition fees will be paid by the University, but no additional studentship stipend will be paid as this position will attract a full-time \u2018Specialist &amp; Supporting Academic\u2019 Grade 5 salary (\u00a325,217 &#8211; \u00a330,046 per annum).
