{"id":696,"date":"2014-05-20T16:52:08","date_gmt":"2014-05-20T16:52:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/smfa-news\/?p=696"},"modified":"2014-05-20T16:52:08","modified_gmt":"2014-05-20T16:52:08","slug":"new-research-grant-award-from-arts-council-england","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/smfa-news\/2014\/05\/20\/new-research-grant-award-from-arts-council-england\/","title":{"rendered":"New Research Grant Award from Arts Council England"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Arts Council England Grant for Arts for School of Music and Fine Art&#8217;s Shona Illingworth<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Shona Illingworth, Fine Art Lecturer at the School of Music and Fine Art has been awarded an Arts Council England Grant for the Arts award for her ongoing art project developed in collaboration with\u00a0John Tulloch, survivor of the 7\/7 London Bombing (2005).<\/p>\n<p>The project\u00a0explores how an \u2018embodied experience\u2019 of the attack and the affects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder intersect with\u00a0one of the powerful and insidious affects of the bombings on the complex and multiple imaginings of the city:\u00a0the mapping of a new topography of latent threat and fear onto space.<\/p>\n<p>216 Westbound\u00a0is produced by Animate Projects and the\u00a0first\u00a0exhibitions of work will take place at CGP Gallery London in July 2014 and at Phoenix Leicester in September 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Shona will discuss the project with Professor John Tulloch and Professor Andrew Hoskins, at the\u00a0forthcoming symposium\u00a0Anxious Places: angst, environments and affective contamination, on\u00a026<sup>th<\/sup> June 2014 at Central Saint Martins\u2019 College, University of the Arts.
