{"id":336,"date":"2013-12-03T16:13:56","date_gmt":"2013-12-03T16:13:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/smfa-news\/?p=336"},"modified":"2013-12-10T12:31:22","modified_gmt":"2013-12-10T12:31:22","slug":"visiting-artists-talk-trish-scott-and-dan-scott","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/smfa-news\/2013\/12\/03\/visiting-artists-talk-trish-scott-and-dan-scott\/","title":{"rendered":"Visiting Artists Talk &#8211; Trish Scott and Dan Scott"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Artist Trish Scott will explore the relationship between digital media and embedded art practice through discussing a selection of site specific projects including collaborative works made with sound artist Dan Scott.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>10<sup>th<\/sup> December<br \/>\nBridgeWardens College, Lecture Theatre<br \/>\n6-8pm<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/smfa-news\/files\/2013\/12\/Change-Management.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-337\" alt=\"Change Management\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/smfa-news\/files\/2013\/12\/Change-Management-300x193.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"193\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/smfa-news\/files\/2013\/12\/Change-Management-300x193.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/smfa-news\/files\/2013\/12\/Change-Management.jpg 700w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Artist Trish Scott will explore the relationship between digital media and embedded art practice through discussing a selection of site specific projects including collaborative works made with sound artist Dan Scott.<\/p>\n<p>Trish and Dan&#8217;s joint practice incorporates their respective fields of video, performance and sound and explores narratives of place, playfully utilizing institutional methodologies such as ethnography, archaeology, management consultancy and literature.<\/p>\n<p>Previous projects include <i>Change Management,<\/i> a life-coaching course for a piece of derelict land in Kent, <i>Herring Quest<\/i>, an exploration of the declining herring industry in Northern Iceland and <i>Our Father<\/i> a project following the encounters of an English Catholic priest in rural Portugal.<\/p>\n<p>Trish and Dan have a background in social anthropology, and are currently both engaged in practice-based doctoral research at the University of the Arts, London.
