We are delighted to announce the winners of our first ever SMFA student Instagram competition.<\/p>\n

The brief was to celebrate the unique setting of The School of Music and Fine Art in the\u00a0 breathtaking Historic Dockyard Chatham by calling for images of our campus created by SMFA students posted on our @UniKentMFA Instagram page with our <\/em>hashtag #smfacreative<\/em>.<\/p>\n

We were delighted that Vicky Price<\/em>, <\/strong>Community Engagement Officer of Chatham Historic Dockyard<\/strong> Trust<\/strong>, agreed to select the winning entries and her comments are below:<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re a great bunch of photographs!\u00a0 I\u2019ve decided on a winner and 2 runners up, and there is a fourth photograph I wanted to \u2018highly commend\u2019.<\/em><\/p>\n

Winner: (\u00a320 Amazon voucher) Dave Perry<\/em><\/strong> , 1st<\/sup> Year Music Technology\u00a0\u2013 “Because it really brings out the power and scale of HMS Cavalier.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Runners up: (\u00a310 Amazon vouchers) Dave Perry<\/em> <\/strong>\u2013 “<\/em>A\u00a0view not often considered, and beautifully lit to reveal the brickwork.\u00a0 Also great because it puts Kent University\u2019s presence and the historic nature of The Historic Dockyard\u2019s architecture together so well.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Emma Greenwood<\/em><\/strong>, 1st<\/sup> Year Event and Experience Design \u2013<\/em> “A\u00a0really pleasing composition of a view, again, not often considered.\u00a0 Lovely play with light and shadows.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Highly commended: Dave Perry<\/em><\/strong> \u2013<\/em>\u00a0“The colours, contrast and wide reach of the lens in this image is striking.\u00a0 I felt that, on a large scale, printed, this would be a fantastic image \u2013 it just isn\u2019t done justice on Instagram.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
