Helena and Sean took part in the Canterbury Soapbox Science event, explaining the chemistry of colour to passersby in the beautiful Westgate gardens. Using balloons and a bit of imagination she described everything from photon absorption to photochromic molecules. An enjoyable experience and hopefully inspired some of the next generation to think of a career in STEM.
