Airbus Defence and Space will be hosting the Airbus Presentation Competition at the National Student Space Conference in March 2021. This exciting student competition will have a 1st prize of £500 and 2nd prize of £250, as well as providing a unique opportunity for finalists to raise their profile amongst the UK space industry.
Airbus Presentation Competition with UKSEDS – deadline: 1st February 2021
This opportunity will see selected students present a space mission, instrument or application of their creation on 6th-7th March 2021 at the National Student Space Conference.
The four primary topics of focus this year are:
o Climate Change
o Pandemic Response
o Resource Scarcity
o Natural Disaster Response
Airbus would particularly like to encourage applications from all degree subjects this year as space innovation is a very wide reaching topic.
Your idea should focus on a space mission, instrument or application. You can base this on current topics of study at your university or from your own creative thinking and research. Finalists will have the opportunity to present their concept at the National Student Space Conference 2021 (NSSC2021) where they will be judged by panel of industry experts in front of a (virtual) audience of students from across the country.
To enter you must provide a single A4 page submission outlining your concept together with an application form and consent form found in the document below. Your entry can include pictures. Your submission will be judged based on the technical merit of the topic, creativity and potential for development of the idea. The best entries will then be invited to expand their idea and deliver a presentation at the conference to compete for the top prizes.
The competition is open to all students working towards an undergraduate or master’s degree and entries must be individual.
The submission deadline is 1st February 2021 and the NSSC2021 is being held 6th-7th March 2021.
