What are the roles?

Role 1: Application Development Graduate Scheme

In this graduate scheme, you will be working with cutting edge technology to create and develop applications which the whole business can use.

Projects could include:

– Trialing new technologies from major suppliers

– Building applications from scratch

– Replacing old systems with more advanced applications

You will be trained on everything you need to know, and your work will be used on a daily basis throughout the department!

Across the 2-year rotational programme:

– You will start with your technical skills training to help equip you with the skills and knowledge for the next stage of the programme.

– You will then move into the graduate training project, which is an opportunity to complete a live project and experience the full project lifecycle.

– You will then undergo placement in two or more Application Development teams to experience and get exposure to a huge variety of projects and technologies.

Who is best suited to the Application Development scheme?

You don’t need to have studied an IT-related degree, but you will need an interest in software development and knowledge of a programming language. Just as important though, you must bring strong communication skills and real commercial awareness.

Let’s forget about your degree for a moment, and instead, focus on you. Are you an inquisitive thinker with the imagination to see the world differently? Do you have the curiosity to explore new possibilities and the desire to create solutions that drive future development? Then they’d like to meet you. They are looking for individuals who can take business challenges and think outside the box, solving problems with technical solutions. Confidence is key as you will be dealing with key stakeholders in the business.

Role 2: Technical Infrastructure Graduate Scheme

– As a member of the Technology Infrastructure team, you will focus on exploring how emerging technologies can shape the future of the business.

 – This team maintains and develops the entire IT infrastructure and uses technologies from leading vendors like Dell EMC, Splunk, Palo Alto and Bloomberg.

– It is a 2-year rotational programme. During this time, you will work in teams including data services and operations, information optimisation and integration, with time also spent on the Service Desk.

– You will be solving tech problems to keep the firm running smoothly, meaning your work will have an immediate and tangible impact.

– You will receive excellent support and training, including the IOC qualification.

Who is best suited to the Technical Infrastructure scheme?

You don’t need to have studied an IT-related degree, but you will need an interest in and commitment to developing your technical knowledge.

– You must be a well-rounded individual who has a positive approach to new challenges and who enjoys collaboration.

Why should I apply?

– This company uses advanced technologies such as ASP.NET Core, C# and eID, as well as HTML 5 platforms, Angular, iOS Mobile Development and Android.

– Having access to major suppliers allows this company to field trial their new technologies – you will be able to explore how new software products work and help develop their functionality before anyone else

– Due to their size, they have been able to get ahead of the curve and take more risks than many larger financial services organisations.

– You will receive excellent support and training, including the IOC qualification.
