{"id":8850,"date":"2018-06-14T14:04:20","date_gmt":"2018-06-14T13:04:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/?p=8850"},"modified":"2018-06-14T14:04:20","modified_gmt":"2018-06-14T13:04:20","slug":"james-william-hoctor-discusses-twins-on-the-anthill-podcast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/2018\/06\/14\/james-william-hoctor-discusses-twins-on-the-anthill-podcast\/","title":{"rendered":"James William Hoctor discusses twins on The Anthill podcast"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Vice-Chancellor\u2019s Graduate Teaching Assistant, James W Hoctor, who is studying for his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/philosophy\/postgraduate\/reseach-philosophy.html\">PhD in Philosophy<\/a> has given an interview for the podcast <a href=\"https:\/\/theconversation.com\/uk\/podcasts\/the-anthill\"><em>The Anthill<\/em><\/a>, a series that unearths stories from the world of academic research. <em>The Anthill <\/em>is produced by the website <em><a href=\"https:\/\/theconversation.com\/uk\">The Conversation UK<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u2018What drew me to this, I suppose, was first of all my own experience as a twin,\u2019 explains James in the podcast, \u2018meaning that perhaps when I came across representations of twins in popular culture and theoretical literature, I thought maybe it didn\u2019t represent my experience.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>James\u2019 doctoral project is titled \u2018Towards an Intersubjectivity of Monozygotic Twins and its Implications&#8217;, and is\u00a0co-supervised by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/philosophy\/staff\/mei.html\">Dr Todd Mei<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/philosophy\/staff\/corfield.html\">Dr David Corfield<\/a> in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/philosophy\/index.html\">Department of Philosophy<\/a>.
