{"id":8378,"date":"2018-02-22T14:01:33","date_gmt":"2018-02-22T14:01:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/?p=8378"},"modified":"2018-09-19T10:52:35","modified_gmt":"2018-09-19T09:52:35","slug":"natalia-sobrevilla-perea-radio-interview-on-the-cadiz-constitution","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/2018\/02\/22\/natalia-sobrevilla-perea-radio-interview-on-the-cadiz-constitution\/","title":{"rendered":"Natalia Sobrevilla Perea radio interview on the C\u00e1diz Constitution"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/modern-languages\/staff\/perea.html\">Natalia Sobrevilla Perea<\/a>, Professor of\u00a0Latin American History in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/modern-languages\/index.html\">Department of Modern Langages<\/a>, will feature on the Spanish radio programme <a href=\"http:\/\/www.radio.uji.es\/programa.php?id=123\"><em>Hablemos de historia<\/em><\/a><em>\u00a0<\/em>[<em>Let\u2019s Talk About History<\/em>] to be broadcast on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.radio.uji.es\">Vox UJI R\u00e0dio<\/a>, the official station of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uji.es\">Jaume I University<\/a>, Valencia, Spain, on Thursday 1 March.<\/p>\n<p>Natalia will be talking about her co-edited book <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uapress.ua.edu\/product\/Rise-of-Constitutional-Government-in-the-Iberian-A,5993.aspx\"><em>The Rise of Constitutional Government in the Iberian Atlantic World<\/em><\/a><em>\u00a0<\/em>(University of Alabama Press, 2015), which explored C\u00e1diz Constitution of 1812, the first liberal constitution of the Hispanic world. The constitution was extremely influential in and beyond Europe, and its enduring legacy not only shaped the history of state-building, elections, and municipal governance in Iberian America, but also affected national identities and citizenship, as well as the development of race and gender in the region.<\/p>\n<p>Natalia is currently primary investigator on the research project <a href=\"https:\/\/research.kent.ac.uk\/warandnation\/\">War and Nation: Identity and the Process of State-building in South America<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Spanish-language programme will be broadcast will be at 3pm (CET), with a repeat at 10pm (CET).
