{"id":7715,"date":"2017-08-11T12:02:58","date_gmt":"2017-08-11T11:02:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/?p=7715"},"modified":"2019-04-09T14:03:14","modified_gmt":"2019-04-09T13:03:14","slug":"english-language-and-linguistics-success-in-the-nss-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/2017\/08\/11\/english-language-and-linguistics-success-in-the-nss-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"English Language and Linguistics success in the NSS 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"margin: 0px;color: #333333;font-family: 'Georgia',serif\">The results of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thestudentsurvey.com\/\">National Student Survey 2017<\/a>\u00a0(NSS) have now been released, revealing good news for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/ell\/index.html\">Department of English Language &amp;\u00a0Linguistics<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px;color: #333333;font-family: 'Georgia',serif\">The NSS is an independent UK-wide survey of all higher education institutions, providing an opportunity for final-year students to independently rate their experience at university.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px;color: #333333;font-family: 'Georgia',serif\">The survey ran from January until April this year and\u00a0the results were published earlier this week, on\u00a09\u00a0August 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px;color: #333333;font-family: 'Georgia',serif\">The Department received a major endorsement for its teaching quality, with the student score for teaching satisfaction\u00a0at 93%, ranking 9th in its subject area.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px;color: #333333;font-family: 'Georgia',serif\">Congratulations to our academic and support staff for providing excellent teaching to achieve this result, and thank you to all of our students who participated in the survey.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The results of the\u00a0National Student Survey 2017\u00a0(NSS) have now been released, revealing good news for the Department of English Language &amp;\u00a0Linguistics.
