This is the culmination of three or four years of hard work (or longer for part-time students).<\/p>\n<p>A pre-graduation party was held on campus today, complete with a prize-giving ceremony for those who have made a particular contribution to the school. The English Language &amp; Linguistics prizes included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Vilde Reksnes won Best Degree in English Language &amp; Linguistics. Vilde also jointly won the Humanities Rotary Prize for excellence in the subject.<\/li>\n<li>Georgia-Ann Carter won Best English Language &amp;\u00a0Linguistics\u00a0Dissertation.<\/li>\n<li>Lizzy Aumonier won Most Significant Contribution to English Language &amp; Linguistics.<\/li>\n<li>Additionally, Malika White won the SECL Employability Prize for her work experience at Canterbury Cathedral Lodge, volunteering work at Canterbury Food Bank, as well as contribution of articles for\u00a0<em>InQuire<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Following the pre-graduation party, our graduates were awarded their degrees at a ceremony held in\u00a0Canterbury Cathedral.<\/p>\n<p>An album of photos from the party has been added to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/unikentsecl\/\">SECL Facebook<\/a> page here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pg\/unikentsecl\/photos\/?tab=album&amp;album_id=1537229673015997\">www.facebook.com\/pg\/unikentsecl\/photos\/?tab=album&amp;album_id=1537229673015997<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Congratulations to our final-year students\u00a0from the Department of English Language &amp; Linguistics, who graduated today with their well-earned degrees.
