{"id":7517,"date":"2017-06-15T16:23:38","date_gmt":"2017-06-15T15:23:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/?p=7517"},"modified":"2017-06-15T17:04:30","modified_gmt":"2017-06-15T16:04:30","slug":"congratulations-to-jennifer-morgan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/2017\/06\/15\/congratulations-to-jennifer-morgan\/","title":{"rendered":"Congratulations to Jennifer Morgan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are delighted to announce that one of our final-year students from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/modern-languages\/index.html\">Department of Modern Languages<\/a> has won a University music prize.<\/p>\n<p>Jennifer\u00a0Morgan, who has just finished\u00a0her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/modern-languages\/undergraduate\/french\/french-and-hispanic-studies.html\">BA (Hons) in\u00a0French and Hispanic Studies<\/a>, was awarded the\u00a0Canterbury Festival Prize, presented by Festival Director\u00a0Rosie Turner. The prize is awarded to a final-year student who has made an outstanding contribution to music at the University.<\/p>\n<p>Jennifer has been Principle double bass in Symphony Orchestra, bassist\u00a0in Concert Band, star electric bassist for the Big Band, and our 1930s dance orchestra,\u00a0<em>General Harding\u2019s Tomfoolery<\/em>.
