{"id":7419,"date":"2017-05-26T12:12:11","date_gmt":"2017-05-26T11:12:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/?p=7419"},"modified":"2017-05-26T12:12:11","modified_gmt":"2017-05-26T11:12:11","slug":"steve-willis-hosts-kent-archaeological-society-agm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/2017\/05\/26\/steve-willis-hosts-kent-archaeological-society-agm\/","title":{"rendered":"Steve Willis hosts Kent Archaeological Society AGM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/classics\/staff\/willis.html\">Dr Steve Willis<\/a> from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/classics\/index.html\">Department of Classical &amp; Archaeological Studies<\/a>, hosted the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kentarchaeology.org.uk\/\">Kent Archaeological Society<\/a> (KAS) AGM at the University of Kent, Eliot College on Saturday 20 May 2017.<\/p>\n<p>KAS promotes the study and publication of archaeology and history within the ancient county of Kent. The Society\u2019s interests are not confined to archaeological fieldwork, it\u2019s objects cover all types of archaeological,\u00a0architectural and artefact\u00a0study and local history in the widest sense. This\u00a0includes ancient monuments, historic buildings, genealogy, industrial archaeology and local history research.<\/p>\n<p>The University of Kent former Chancellor, Sir Robert Worcester, attended the AGM and Andy Bates, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/classics\/postgraduate\/research-classical-archaeological-studies.html\">Classical &amp; Archaeological Studies PhD<\/a> student, gave a talk on the Hillforts at Oldbury and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/classics\/news\/index.html?view=6638\">Bigbury<\/a>.
