{"id":6948,"date":"2017-01-26T16:39:08","date_gmt":"2017-01-26T16:39:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/?p=6948"},"modified":"2018-08-30T17:02:35","modified_gmt":"2018-08-30T16:02:35","slug":"major-new-research-project-on-understanding-unbelief","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/2017\/01\/26\/major-new-research-project-on-understanding-unbelief\/","title":{"rendered":"Major new research project on understanding unbelief"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/thrs\/staff\/lee.html\">Dr Lois Lee<\/a> has recently joined the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/thrs\/index.html\">Department of Religious Studies<\/a> in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/index.html\">School of European Culture and Languages<\/a> (SECL) from UCL, where she will be leading a new and unprecedented \u00a32 million project called Understanding Unbelief. The project, which is generously funded by Philadelphia-based <a href=\"https:\/\/www.templeton.org\">John Templeton Foundation<\/a>, aims to advance the scientific understanding of atheism, agnosticism and other forms of so-called religious \u2018unbelief\u2019 as a global phenomenon.<\/p>\n<p>The project will be undertaken in collaboration with research teams from around the world.
