{"id":6823,"date":"2016-12-19T10:39:31","date_gmt":"2016-12-19T10:39:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/?p=6823"},"modified":"2016-12-16T14:43:07","modified_gmt":"2016-12-16T14:43:07","slug":"students-travel-to-cuba-in-the-new-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/2016\/12\/19\/students-travel-to-cuba-in-the-new-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Students travel to Cuba in the New Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Students studying <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/modern-languages\/undergraduate\/index.html?tab=hispanic-studies\">undergraduate Hispanic Studies programmes<\/a>, alongside students from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/smfa\/\">School of Music and Fine Art<\/a> (SMFA), will be travelling on a study trip to Cuba on Thursday 5 January for just over a week, following a successful bid to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/humanities\/internationalisation\/index.html\">Faculty of Humanities Internationalisation Fund<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/modern-languages\/staff\/roser.html\">Dr Montserrat Roser i Puig<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/modern-languages\/staff\/rowlandson.html\">Dr William Rowlandson<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/smfa\/staff\/staff-profiles\/musicandaudio\/Lightman.html\">Dr Richard Lightman<\/a> are making the final preparations to take the group of 19 students to Havana, the Cuban capital.<\/p>\n<p>Hispanic Studies students will be able to immerse themselves in a Spanish-language culture and gain a first-hand look at the country at the heart of the modules <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/courses\/modules\/module\/LS580\">Barcelona and Havana: Icon, Myth and History<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/courses\/modules\/module\/LS554\">Writing the Cuban Revolution<\/a>.
