{"id":6494,"date":"2016-09-19T10:42:26","date_gmt":"2016-09-19T09:42:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/?p=6494"},"modified":"2017-06-22T12:57:40","modified_gmt":"2017-06-22T11:57:40","slug":"book-launch-for-sea-eagles-of-the-empire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/2016\/09\/19\/book-launch-for-sea-eagles-of-the-empire\/","title":{"rendered":"Book launch for Sea Eagles of the Empire"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Further to PhD student Simon Elliott\u2019s publication of his first book, <em>Sea Eagles of Empire<\/em> (The History Press, 2016), history on the Roman Navy in Britain annoucened last week, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cityoflondon.gov.uk\/things-to-do\/guildhall-library\/Pages\/default.aspx\">Guildhall Library in London<\/a> will be holding a book launch for the book this Thursday, 22 September 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Simon is currently completing a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/classics\/postgraduate\/research-classical-archaeological-studies.html\">PhD in Classical &amp; Archaeological Studies<\/a>, and his research on &#8216;Late Roman Kent&#8217;, supervised by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/classics\/staff\/willis.html\">Dr Steve Willis<\/a>, inform his interest in the Roman Navy.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets to the event cost \u00a35.90, which include a wine reception.
