The festival attracted international competition, with entrants from all over the world, including Germany, Austria, Korea, Japan, China, Croatia, France, Spain, Italy and the Switzerland.<\/p>\n<p>Music composition is related to Sumio\u2019s own PhD research in linguistics, supervised by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/ell\/staff\/arvaniti.html\">Professor Amalia Arvaniti<\/a>,\u00a0with a project on\u00a0 \u2018Prosody of Language and Music\u2019, examining the relationship between speech rhythm and music.<\/p>\n<p>The festival was held over 13 to 17 April.
