{"id":5770,"date":"2016-04-01T12:22:19","date_gmt":"2016-04-01T11:22:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/?p=5770"},"modified":"2016-04-01T12:22:19","modified_gmt":"2016-04-01T11:22:19","slug":"the-society-of-dix-neuviemistes-annual-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/2016\/04\/01\/the-society-of-dix-neuviemistes-annual-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"The Society of Dix-neuvi\u00e9mistes annual Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 14<sup>th<\/sup> annual conference of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sdn.ac.uk\/index.html\">Society of Dix-neuvi\u00e9mistes<\/a> takes place at the University of Kent\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/paris\/index.html\">Paris centre<\/a> from 14-16 April 2016.<\/p>\n<p>The \u00a0Society of Dix-neuvi\u00e9mistes is a UK based international society concerned with the culture and history of nineteenth-century France and aims to provide a forum for the promotion and dissemination of research in nineteenth-century French and Francophone studies in the UK and Ireland, as well as encouraging interdisciplinary and comparative approaches to the &#8216;long&#8217; nineteenth century (1789-1914) in France and Francophone countries, embracing linguistic, literary, historical, cultural and philosophical perspectives, and to foster nineteenth-century French studies in the postgraduate community.<\/p>\n<p>The theme of this year&#8217;s conference is \u2018The Body\u2019, with 120 papers being delivered over three days at Reid Hall in Montparnasse.
