{"id":5539,"date":"2016-02-10T10:39:31","date_gmt":"2016-02-10T10:39:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/?p=5539"},"modified":"2016-02-10T10:39:31","modified_gmt":"2016-02-10T10:39:31","slug":"heide-kunzelmann-to-present-on-ilse-aichinger","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/2016\/02\/10\/heide-kunzelmann-to-present-on-ilse-aichinger\/","title":{"rendered":"Heide Kunzelmann to present on Ilse Aichinger"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/modern-languages\/staff\/kunzelmann.html\">Dr Heide Kunzelmann<\/a> from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/modern-languages\/index.html\">Department of Modern Languages<\/a> is to present on the writings of Austrian author <a href=\"http:\/\/www.britannica.com\/biography\/Ilse-Aichinger\">Ilse Aichinger<\/a> at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.acflondon.org\/\">Austrian Cultural Forum<\/a> in London on 8 March 2016 at 7pm.<\/p>\n<p>Ilse Aichinger is an Austrian writer noted for her accounts of her persecution by the Nazis because of her Jewish ancestry. The event entitled \u2018Translation, Friendship: A Celebration of the Writing of Ilse Aichinger\u2019, curated by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rca.ac.uk\/more\/staff\/yve-lomax\/\">Yve Lomax<\/a>, Research Fellow at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rca.ac.uk\/\">Royal College of Art<\/a>, is an evening of performances of poetry, prose and philosophy to celebrate the writings of Ilse Aichinger and the recent publication of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.copypress.co.uk\/index\/the-bound-man-and-other-stories\/\"><em>The Bound Man, and Other Stories<\/em><\/a> (Copy Press, 2015).
