{"id":5389,"date":"2016-01-19T09:27:42","date_gmt":"2016-01-19T09:27:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/?p=5389"},"modified":"2016-05-12T14:55:57","modified_gmt":"2016-05-12T13:55:57","slug":"special-issue-of-lesprit-createur","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/2016\/01\/19\/special-issue-of-lesprit-createur\/","title":{"rendered":"Special issue of L&#8217;Esprit cr\u00e9ateur"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A special issue of the journal <a href=\"https:\/\/espritcreateur.org\/\"><em>L&#8217;Esprit cr<\/em><em>\u00e9<\/em><em>ateur<\/em><\/a>, co-edited by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/modern-languages\/staff\/baldwin.html\">Thomas Baldwin<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/modern-languages\/staff\/o-meara.html\">Lucy O&#8217;Meara<\/a> from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/modern-languages\/index.html\">Department of Modern Languages<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/complit\/staff\/haustein.html\">Katja Haustein<\/a> from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/complit\/index.html\">Department of Comparative Literature<\/a>\u00a0has just been published by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.press.jhu.edu\">Johns Hopkins University Press<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>L\u2019Esprit Createur <\/em>is devoted to the study of French and Francophone literature, film, and culture.\u00a0 Covering all periods from the medieval to the contemporary, <em>L\u2019Esprit Cr\u00e9ateur\u00a0<\/em>represents the major fields of the discipline of French and Francophone Studies, including literature and literary history, postcolonial studies, gender studies, film and visual studies, ecocriticism, critical theory, and cultural studies.<\/p>\n<p>The special issue\u00a0is entitled &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/muse.jhu.edu\/journals\/lesprit_createur\/toc\/esp.55.4.html\">What&#8217;s So Great About Roland Barthes?<\/a>&#8216;<em>\u00a0<\/em>and celebrates the work of French critic and theorist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.britannica.com\/biography\/Roland-Gerard-Barthes\">Roland Barthes<\/a> (1915-1980). The issue came out at the end of Barthes&#8217;s centenary year (2015), and contains\u00a0articles by eight international specialists of Barthes&#8217;s work, as well as articles by each of the co-editors and a selection of reviews.
