{"id":5293,"date":"2015-12-11T09:56:08","date_gmt":"2015-12-11T09:56:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/?p=5293"},"modified":"2016-09-30T15:01:21","modified_gmt":"2016-09-30T14:01:21","slug":"classical-and-archaeological-studies-student-trip-to-munich","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/2015\/12\/11\/classical-and-archaeological-studies-student-trip-to-munich\/","title":{"rendered":"Classical and Archaeological Studies student trip to Munich"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Professor Karla Pollmann, Head of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/classics\/index.html\"> Department of Classical &amp;\u00a0Archaeological Studies<\/a>\u00a0(CLAS), will take students of the Department on an internationalisation event to Munich, from 13-16 December 2015.<\/p>\n<p>The event is generously sponsored by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/humanities\/\"> Faculty of Humanities<\/a> and is meant as a training and networking opportunity for a diverse body of CLAS Undergraduate and Postgraduate students studying early Christianity. It will offer them additional visual and documentary material as well as access to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.en.uni-muenchen.de\/index.html\"> Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich<\/a>(LMU), a world class centre in this area, with an unrivalled interdisciplinary environment.<\/p>\n<p>The students will have guided tours though the Glyptothek museum\u00a0and the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek, and attend a lecture by Professor Pollmann on <em>Metaphor, Allegory, and the Limits of Education in later Antiquity<\/em> (on Tuesday 15 December at 6.15pm at LMU, Hauptgeb\u00e4ude, Geschwister Scholl-Platz 1, room A 016).
